Ambassador Gambari Presents Copies of Letters of Credence, Begins Diplomatic Mission in Malaysia

The High Commissioner-Designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Malaysia, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Olatunji Sulu Gambari, has formally presented copies of his Letters of Credence (copie d’usage) to the Chief of Protocol, Protocol and Consular Department of Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ikram bin Mohammad Ibrahim.

The presentation, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, marks a significant diplomatic milestone and serves as the official precursor to Ambassador Gambari’s formal presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, in accordance with established diplomatic protocol.

Ambassador Gambari arrived in Kuala Lumpur on 11 July 2026 and officially assumed duty as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Malaysia on 13 July 2026. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the longstanding cordial relations between Nigeria and Malaysia, with renewed emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, education, technology, culture, and other areas of mutual interest.

The commencement of his diplomatic assignment underscores Nigeria’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Malaysia while advancing shared economic and developmental goals through enhanced diplomatic engagement.
