Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has appeal to Tarabans to join hands and lift the state.
He stated this in a statement shortly after the Appeal Court judgment.
“Today’s victory at the Court of Appeal is yet again a demonstration of how the people’s will trumps over any other consideration.

“It’s also one for democracy and the victory of light over darkness.
“I appeal to all of us Taraba state citizens to join hands and lift our people up. We can do more together as one.
“I congratulate all our Moving Forward team and salute our collectice resolve – the statement said.
The Court of Appeal, Abuja dismissed the appeal of Mister Sani Yahaya of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who is challenging the election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Kefas Agbu, as Governor of Taraba state.
Yahaya and his party had challenged the result of the March 18 governorship election on the grounds of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, stating that Agbu didn’t score the majority of lawful votes cast.
Delivering Judgement on Tuesday, the appellate court held that the reliefs sought by the NNPP candidate were inconsistent having faulted the outcome of the polls on grounds of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, yet praying the Court to declare him the winner of the same election.
In a unanimous decision, the court thereby dismissed the appeal of the NNPP for lacking merit as did the Tribunal on September 30.
Governor Agbu had polled 257,926 votes to defeat Yahaya who got 202,277 votes in the March 18 Governorship Election
The petitioners had instituted a petition against the victory of the PDP and its candidate, Kefas Agbu, on the grounds of non-compliance to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022, citing overvoting, mutilation of results sheets, and alleged violence in some polling units.
Some Tarabans comment on the judgment,
