The Chairman Emplug Group Engr Azunna Chukwu, has expressed shock over the death of the founder of DAAR Communications PLC, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
Dokpesi died on Monday May 29th 2023 at an Abuja hospital.
In a statement issued from his office dated 30th May 2023, the Engr Chukwu described the death of the media mogul as a huge loss to the Nigerian media industry and Africa as a whole.
“The death of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi is a blow to the media industry where he has played pioneering roles in private broadcasting. His pacesetting investment in the industry is an inspiration to many who come after him in the private media industry”.
According to The Chairman Emplug ” the history of the revolution of the Private Nigerian media industry will be incomplete without mentioning of High Chief Dokpesi and his giant strides on the media landscape”.
“I am heart broken because we still wanted him around for much longer as he still had a lot to offer the Media World. I hereby express my sincere condolences to the management and staff of DAAR Communications PLC and the family of the late media mogul for this monumental irreparable loss,” he concluded.
