Her Profile
Her father was Onoyom Okon Essien Ndok of blessed memory from Calabar. While her Mother was Oku Iso from Iso Royal Family of the Qua Nation.
She was born April 22nd 1955, In Ibadan where her parents met in the search for greener pastures. Her father later proceeded to the United Kingdom in 1956.
EDUCATION
The Young Ebiti began her Primary Education aged 6 at Ibadan City Council, (ICC) Mokola, Ibadan. In 1967, she gained admission into the prestigieous Girls School, St. Anne’s Molete, Ibadan. In School she was a profound Athlete, participating in all track events and was a regular on the relay team.
Having finished her Secondary Education, she proceeded to School of Nursing University College Hospital (UCH Ibadan) from where she left for England at the age of 21.
While at England, she met and married Engr Victor Olusola Jegede in 1977. The union produced four amazing beautiful God fearing children, three daughters and a son. All now married with children and very successful in their various endeavors. Evang. Dr Ebiti Ndok Jegede is currently blessed with 12 grandchildren to the glory of God.
WORK LIFE/EXPERIENCES.
While in England Ebiti had the opportunity to engage in several professional Studies; Management, Law, International Relations, and Social Services. She also had the opportunity to work in different fields. She is a Management Specialist. She worked for both Radio and Television as well as doing series of Advocacy.
Ebiti headed a Voluntary Organization (NGO) Organization for the Welfare of African Women in UK, (OWAWU). A platform where she was a Strong Voice for the Black Women in UK making representation in Housing, Welfare, Education, & Social Services for many African families. She was on the Campaign Trail of the First Female Black MP Diane Abott, representing Hackney North.
Managing People in Various Organizations where Ebiti worked became her Strong Point. She studied “Development in the 3rd Worlds” all of these were preparing her for Nigeria’s number 1 Seat at Aso Rock.
Her works attracted a CNN interview on Black Women in 1994 that went viral globally. She later went into Social Services, Managing Care Projects for Older Persons until her return to Nigeria.
Evang Ebiti, visited Nigeria in 2005, to bury her Mother. Seeing the way things were being run in the country, a craving for Positive Change started building up in her. This made her have a rethink for relocation. Thus after 30 years surjourn in UK she finally returned to Nigeria in 2006.
POLITICAL LIFE IN NIGERIA
She set to register a political party the United National Party for Development (UNPD) a feat that took 3 years for the release of her Certificate (UNPD) by INEC in 2009. While she awaited INEC to do the needful, she contested as VP in the 2007 General Elections on the platform of the NNPP. In the 2011 General Elections she was on the ballot paper this time as the Presidential Flag Bearer for her Political Party the UNPD and she polled 21,203 Votes just from the debate without travelling around the country to campaign.
While also working on her own project Women Solidarity Worldwide, she partnered with some International Agencies which gave her the credit to be recognized and be invited to join the 40 Women Team Working with the UN Women in 2010, to Strategize and Sensitize More Women’s participation in Politics. This has remained her strength for advocating women enlightenment & empowerment into politics. She is the President and Founder Women Solidarity Worldwide.
The 2011 General Elections came with diverse challenges to the extent of being detained for 10 Days at the Keffi Prisons, with Reference to Romans 8:18-19 that for every good thing, there is always a hicup. There is a glorious future ahead of any suffering an individual goes through and such is the same for Evang. Ebiti Ndok-Jegede.
She has seen the good, the bad and the ugly but has survived it all. “#2023 I Come” is her slogan. So the journey to Aso Villa started from February 2022. She has been since been working assiduously to see who to align with, since the delisting of the 74 Political Parties in Nigeria by INEC, and to the glory of God, she is in synergy with Allied People’s Movement (APM) as the Flag Bearer.
A Mother that Nigeria has been waiting for has arrived. A Mother with Consideration Factor. A Mother who wants to Nurture Nigeria to Greatness and she is a Mother INDEED.
