Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has urged Christians in the state to emulate Christ’s exemplary life of humility and compassion demonstrated through his death and resurrection.

He stated this in his goodwill message to Christians on Easter Celebration.

He said Easter which is being marked throughout the universe today comes with a big lesson about sacrifice and forgiveness.

“There can only be peace among our people and communities if we all resolve to forgive one another and make concessions on issues that tend to generate and promote conflicts and crises among them.

Governor Ishaku expressed happiness that his mantra of “Give Me Peace and I will Give You Development” has found firm roots in the minds of all Tarabans and urged the people to let the spirit of peace, love and forgiveness guide their attitudes, actions and relations with their fellow people.

He said in a few weeks he would be passing the baton of leadership in the state to a new person elected by the people.

According to him, he would be leaving a fulfilled and happy person, having successfully laid a solid foundation on which subsequent occupants of the highest seat of power in the state can build on.
He called for support for the in-coming administration of Col Agbu Kefas and urged the people not to do anything that could make him lose focus.

Governor Ishaku wished all Christians in the state a happy and fulfilling Easter celebration.

Similarly, the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, have felicitated with Christians in the State and the country on this year’s Easter celebration.

He wishes them a season of Christ’s love, joy and blessings; just as he urges the Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ to show the world that they are His true followers.

The Speaker prays that the Resurrection Power of Christ should lift and spur all Christians and non-Christians alike in the country from despair, hopeleness and weakness to hope, strength and unending happiness; stressing that Easter is a symbol of hope, renewal and new life.

He further urges the Christians to use the auspicious Easter season to pray fervently for peaceful transition of power both at the State and federal levels come 29th May, 2023 and for lasting peace, so that Nigeria will take her rightful place among the comity of democratic nations in the world.
