Court Remands Two Over Alleged Cyberstalking Against Rep Chinedu Ogah

Two young men, Chisom Achor (22) and Chinonso Imeba (28), were on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, arraigned before the Magistrate Court 1 (Admin) of Enugu State, sitting at Enugu North local government, over allegations of conspiracy and cyberstalking involving defamatory social media posts against Rt Hon. Chinedu Ogah.

The defendants were brought before His Worship O. S. Chukwuani on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and cybercrime.

According to the charge, the duo and others now at large allegedly conspired between September and October 2025 at Obed Camp, Ngenevu, Enugu, to commit the offence of cyberstalking, contrary to Section 27 of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2015 (as amended 2024).

In the second count, the prosecution alleged that Achor and Imeba intentionally published videos on Facebook and TikTok using the handles Ikwo Pluto and Pluto 777.

In the videos, they purportedly used the picture of Hon. Ogah member representating Ikwo /Ezza South federal constituency and claimed he killed youths from Item Amagu, collected their “talents,” caused some to go mad, and used others for ritual purposes allegations said to have severely damaged his reputation.

The offence is contrary to section 27 of the cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2015 (as amended 2024) punishable under Section 24(2)(a)(b) of the Cybercrime Act (as amended 2024).

The defendants did not take their plea for lack of jurisdiction of magistrate court to entertain the matter.

Prosecuting counsel, CSP Justice Attah (Esq.), presented the original case file, which the court admitted and ordered to be transmitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Enugu state for legal advice.

The court subsequently remanded the defendants at the Enugu Correctional Centre, pending the DPP’s review and further directives.
