The Director-General of the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS), Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, has congratulated the Institute’s Head Coach, Coach Jubril, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a dedicated sports professional whose commitment to excellence has continued to make a positive impact on sports development in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message, Shaibu commended Coach Jubril for his passion, discipline and unwavering dedication to nurturing athletes and promoting the ideals of professionalism, teamwork and excellence. He noted that the coach’s technical expertise and years of service have contributed immensely to the development of young sporting talents and the advancement of the Institute’s mandate of producing world-class coaches and athletes.

The Director-General stated that Coach Jubril’s commitment to capacity building, talent discovery and sports development reflects the core values of the Nigeria Institute for Sports. He expressed confidence that the Head Coach would continue to inspire athletes and colleagues alike through his exemplary leadership, hard work and commitment to excellence.
Responding to the surprise birthday celebration organised in his honour, an emotional Coach Jubril expressed profound appreciation to the Director-General, management and members of staff of the Nigeria Institute for Sports for the thoughtful gesture. He described the celebration as unexpected and deeply touching, saying it would remain one of the memorable moments of his career.

“I am sincerely overwhelmed by this surprise. I never imagined that my birthday would be celebrated in such a special way. I am deeply grateful to our Director-General, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, for his fatherly support, encouragement and confidence in my abilities. I also thank my colleagues for their love and goodwill. This honour has inspired me to remain committed to developing sports and mentoring the next generation of athletes,” Coach Jubril said.
Rt. Hon. Shaibu prayed that God grants Coach Jubril good health, greater wisdom, renewed strength and many more fruitful years of impactful service to the nation through sports. He wished him a memorable birthday celebration and continued success in all his future endeavours.
It was indeed the highest show of honour as the DG allowed the Head Coach of the Institute seat on his Chair as the Staff Sang Birthday Song and “He is a jolly great fellow” He later cut the cake and the DG blessed him.
