DRTS Director Gets Vote of Confidence from Civil Rights Movement

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity, and Justice has passed a vote of confidence on the Director of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), Dr. Bello Abdul-Lateef, for his effective and efficient management of the agency.

In a press statement issued in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the coalition, Comrade James Okoronkwo, commended Dr. Abdul-Lateef for his result-oriented leadership, which has repositioned the DRTS and deployed qualified and competent officers to key positions.

The group noted that despite paucity of funds, the DRTS under Dr. Abdul-Lateef’s leadership has achieved numerous successes, including generating significant revenue, collaborating with security agencies to rid the Federal Capital Territory of notorious criminals, and enforcing the motor cycle ban.

The coalition also lauded the DRTS for introducing innovative road traffic management solutions, which have received applause from residents and visitors to the FCT.

The group urged the authorities and the public to disregard a campaign of calumny against Dr. Abdul-Lateef and the DRTS by a faceless group of hirelings envious of the agency’s achievements.”
