The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun fresh mobilisation of its stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party declaring its determination to retain all elective positions in the state.
The party’s State Working Committee, led by Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, held a strategic stakeholders’ meeting at the APC Secretariat in Abakaliki on Sunday, bringing together National Assembly members, state lawmakers, local government chairmen, party chairmen and all APC candidates for the 2027 elections.
Addressing the gathering, Emegha charged party stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively within their respective senatorial districts, federal constituencies and state constituencies to secure victory for the APC.
He said the party would not afford to lose any elective position to the opposition, urging all leaders and candidates to strengthen their grassroots mobilisation and maintain unity ahead of the polls.
The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and the member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, Chinedu Ogah, assured the party leadership that APC candidates were ready to work together with party stakeholders for what they described as a landslide victory in 2027.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ebonyi State and Executive Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Helen Aduga, pledged the support of all the local government chairmen for the success of the party’s candidates.
Aduga thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru and the APC leadership for allowing the local government chairmen to contest and emerge victorious in the recently concluded council elections.
She assured that the chairmen would justify the confidence reposed in them by the governor, the party and other stakeholders by working tirelessly to mobilise support for the APC across the state.
The stakeholders subsequently reaffirmed their commitment to working as a united political force to deliver all available elective positions to the APC in the 2027 elections.
