TONY Nwizi, the Director General of Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation and former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Ebonyi Council, has praised Governor Francis Nwifuru for upgrading the Broadcast Corporation (EBBC) to international standards.
Nwizi stated that the radio and television station was on the verge of collapse before the governor’s intervention.
He made these remarks during a courtesy visit with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ebonyi State Council.

He explained that the corporation now possesses modern equipment that has transformed both broadcast stations, enabling them to transmit 24 hours a day without interruption.
Nwizi described Governor Nwifuru as a passionate leader who has made significant contributions across all sectors since he took over office.
He encouraged media practitioners in the state to continue promoting Ebonyi in a positive light through objective reporting.
During the visit, the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Uchenna Inya, said Nwizi’s appointment as Director General was a perfect fit.
He commended Governor Nwifuru for leveraging Nwizi’s leadership to transform the corporation and urged him to introduce more programs that would continue to attract listeners to the stations.
