The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has confirmed its participation in the forthcoming Ebonyi State local government elections, announcing free nomination forms for women and persons with disabilities as part of efforts to promote inclusive politics.

The Ebonyi State Chairman of ADC, Dr. Jennifer Adibe Nwafor, said the policy was designed to remove financial barriers that limit women’s participation in elections.

Sale of nomination forms began on January 24, 2026, and will end on February 1, 2026, while party primaries are scheduled for February 2, 2026, to be held at designated INEC across the state.

Dr. Nwafor disclosed that nomination forms cost ₦500,000 for chairmanship and ₦150,000 for councillorship, noting that women and persons with disabilities are exempted from payment, provided they are registered members of the party.

She said ADC was holding the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) to its promise of a level playing field, expressing optimism that the party could record electoral victories if the process is free and fair.

The ADC chairman added that interest in the party has been growing, particularly at the grassroots, with thousands of new members recently registered in communities across the state.

According to her, ADC remains confident of strong support for its candidates, stressing that both the party and local stakeholders will back contestants in the election.
