The Ebonyi State chapter of the Muslims Rights concern MURIC has congratulated Muslims across the world on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Adha celebration and commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for appointing a Muslim into a leadership position in the state.
In a statement issued in Abakaliki, the Chairman of MURIC in Ebonyi State, Barr. Ibrahim Obiahu, urged Muslims to imbibe the lessons of the festival, including obedience to God, sacrifice, steadfastness, love and peaceful coexistence.

He noted that the essence of Eid-ul-Adha is rooted in the example of Prophet Abraham, whose unwavering obedience and trust in God earned him divine favour, adding that the celebration should inspire believers to deepen their faith and commitment to humanity.
Barr. Obiahu also called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to embrace peace and reject violence, hatred and other social vices threatening national unity and development.
The MURIC chairman stated that promoting peace and harmonious coexistence remains a core objective of the organisation, stressing that citizens must work collectively to build a more stable and prosperous society.
He particularly thanked Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for appointing Hajia Aisha Nwachi Isa as Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre in Afikpo Local Government Area, describing the move as a significant step toward inclusive governance in Ebonyi State.
According to him, the appointment marks the first time a governor in Ebonyi State has entrusted a Muslim with such a leadership position outside the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the Muslim community and said the gesture had strengthened the confidence of Muslims in the administration.
Barr. Ibrahim Obiahu assured the governor that Hajia Aisha Nwachi Isa would justify the confidence reposed in her through dedicated service, while also praying for greater inclusion of Muslims in leadership positions across Ebonyi State and the wider South-East region.
