Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that his administration has fulfilled about 90 percent of the promises made to the people of the state within three years of assuming office.
The governor made the assertion on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, who paid him a traditional Sallah homage at the Government House in Kano.

According to a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf said his administration has remained focused on delivering people-centred governance through policies and projects designed to improve the welfare of citizens.
He noted that substantial progress has been recorded in critical sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment and economic development, adding that the achievements have laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth and development in the state.
The governor maintained that his administration would continue to work towards fulfilling the remaining promises before the expiration of its tenure, while sustaining ongoing developmental initiatives across all parts of Kano State.
As part of his commitment to the people of Rano Emirate, Governor Yusuf assured residents of the timely expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road, continued provision of subsidised fertilisers to farmers and the renovation of the Emir’s Palace, among other projects aimed at enhancing socio-economic development in the area.
He expressed gratitude to the people of the emirate for their unwavering support, patience and confidence in his administration, pledging to justify the trust reposed in him through continued service and impactful governance.
Earlier, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, commended the governor for what he described as notable achievements recorded within the first three years of his administration.
The traditional ruler specifically lauded the completion of five-kilometre road projects in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Local Government Areas, as well as the ongoing Kaluwaiwai Water Project, which he said has positively impacted the lives of residents.
The Emir also praised Governor Yusuf’s efforts in facilitating the upgrade of the Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology, Rano, into a Federal Polytechnic.
He assured the governor of the continued support and cooperation of the people of Rano Emirate in promoting peace, security and development in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
The visit formed part of the traditional Sallah homage activities and provided an opportunity for both leaders to reflect on ongoing development efforts and strengthen collaboration for the progress of the state.
