Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the construction of Kuje to Pegi and Kuje to Kwaku roads in addition to several other ongoing projects in satellite towns.

Wike who stated this during the officials commissioning of the newly constructed LEA – Secretariat – Garage road in Kuje Area Council, said Tinubu’s Administration is not all about party politics, but about governance that impacts lives.

“Tinubu’s administration is not about party, its about changing the lives of Nigerians, and that’s what we are doing here… So, the Renewed Hope Agenda is a reality, is it not correct? So, I can assure you that with your continuous support, you will get more things in Kuje.
“We will develop satellite towns to the point that you will no longer be interested to leave your communities to come to the city to live. There is no magic, there is nothing difficult about development.

“When we have a government that has the interest of the people, development will come. And that is what President Tinubu is doing, particularly using FCT as a case study”.

The Minister further explained that President Tinubu has also committed #50bn to water project for the satellite towns in this year’s budget, in line with his promise to give priority attention to the development of rural areas to prevent rural- urban migration.
He said Kuje Area Council will be among the benefiting Area Coucils on the water project.
Wike while pointing out that the massive projects ongoing across the six area councils requires proper funding, noted that the Company handling the dualisation of Kuje to Gwagwalada road had also started work.
The FCT Minister who gave indication that the FCT Administration can justify the taxes being collected in the territory, said every responsibile Government owe Taxpayers explanation.
Wike therefore urged tax payers and all those owning ground rents and CofOs to pay their taxes and ensure they hold Government accountable on what their taxes are spent on.
“I have told people who care, ask us, when we say, pay your ground rents, pay your money for C-of-O, ask us, what are we doing with the money?”.
“We owe you a duty to let you know taxes paid must be used for the interest of the people. So, I have told everybody who cares, ask us, “all these taxes we are paying, what are you doing with it?”. We can show them what we are doing with it” Wike assured.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo who called for FCTA’s intervention in portable water supply and construction of Kwaku and Pegi road, described Wike’s infrastructural strides within the last 17 months in office as a ‘rain of blessing’that is falling on the people of FCT, and Nigerians at large.
“There can never be another Wike.Kuje is wearing a new look. If you are in Kuje at night you will think you are in Maitama or Asokoro. No matter what anybody may say, with you, FCT is better and will continue to be better by the Grace of God.”
The Chairman,Senate Committee on FCT, Senator David Jimkuta and House Committee chairman on FCT and Ancillary Matters, Fred Agbedi in their seperate goodwill messages were of the opinion that it will be difficult for anyone to surpass the infrastructural records the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has set in the nation’s capital.
