The GDNN commends the maturity with which our State Governors collectively engaged the Presidential Tax Reforms Committee and congratulate all of them for the positions taken and assures the Nigerian Governor’s Forum that the GDNN is with them on this and will continue to stand by them on the need by the Federal Government to soften down on this subject.
Indeed it is not the scaling up of rates that will enhance the efficiency of the revenue inflow but lowering these rates, at this very difficult time, and developing User-Friendly platforms that make the payment processes easier and less cumbersome that will drive growth in overall revenue inflow into the treasury. We call on all Nigerians to support and stand by the position taken by our Governors under it’s leadership of Governor H. E. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor.
The GDNN joins millions of peace seeking people of the world in congratulating both the Palestinians, in particular the Hamas and the Israelis for achieving successful cease fire negotiations by Wednesday January 15, 2025 led by the State of Qatar after over a year of engagement in lethal hostilities. What was agreed to yesterday that was negotiated under a month or so did confirm that the October 7, 2023 War started was unnecessary and that no amount of use of war machinery or deployment of superior fire power can give the stronger side advantage over the weak. Both sides must end up sitting to negotiate an end. That is what was confirmed by the agreement reached on Wednesday January 15, 2025.
We urge the two sides to sustain the negotiations until a permanent and lasting peace plan is agreed to that will lead the emergence of two states into one or two side-by-side of each other or both as one State depending on what may be the most feasible to both sides as well as to the peace and security of the entire Region. We further urge all the hardliners on both sides to pull back and allow the moderates to negotiate. The ultimate benefits to the State of Israel from its Peace with the entire Middle East and the Islamic world is enormous if only it will give way, and give in, to a lasting peace plan.
We in the GDNN extend our sincere thanks to the Leaders of the State of Qatar, Egypt, USA, Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for persevering in the entire process. We call on all countries of the World to support the complete reconstruction of Gazza and the full rehabilitation of the citizens as soon as possible. The GDNN will drive the effort internally.
Congratulations once again.
