The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement was made at an expanded South-East APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Enugu, where the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, described President Tinubu as a symbol of hope, freedom and liberation of the region from years of neglect and infrastructural decay.

Governor Nwifuru commended party leaders across the zone for their continued support for the President, noting that Tinubu’s commitment to the South-East has strengthened the APC’s presence in the region.
“Without the love and commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I doubt if we would have been here to discuss the APC,” the governor said.
He expressed gratitude to the President for prioritising the welfare of Ndigbo and Nigeria at large, particularly through infrastructural development in the South-East.
“This is the first time we are having over 250 kilometres of federal roads under construction simultaneously in Ebonyi State. This is also the first time we are witnessing massive federal infrastructural projects in the state,” Nwifuru stated.
According to him, before now, Ebonyi State had little to boast of in terms of federal presence.
Also speaking, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, said politics thrives on partnership, stressing that development cannot occur in isolation.
“The South-East will no longer stand as a divided political unit. There is a growing recognition that no zone develops alone,” Mbah said, adding that President Tinubu is laying the foundation for an industrial revolution in the South-East.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, urged stakeholders in the region to close ranks and support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Other speakers, including the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Benjamin Kalu, appealed to the people of the South-East to be strategic and support President Tinubu for continuity in governance.
