In a bid to boost the health of citizens of Afikpo Local Government Area, of Ebonyi State, the newly elected Executive Chairman, Hon Nwachi, Timothy A.U on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, flagged off free Medical outreach powered by the Conference of Afikpo Medical and Dental Doctors, CAMD.
The free medical outreach which will end on Saturday,14th September 2024, features free medical consultation, free eye surgeries & glasses, free gynaecological and general surgeries, Dental Care and daily health talk.
Flagging off the exercise at Mater Misericordia Hospital, Afikpo, the Executive Chairman commended Afikpo Doctors under the umbrella of Conference of Medical and Dental Doctors, CAMD for the laudable initiative which is in tandem with Gov Francis Nwifuru’s efforts towards improving the living condition of those at Home via the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.
The Council Boss who disclosed his preparedness to expand the frontiers of Primary Health Care delivery in Afikpo LGA, called for the co-operation of all stakeholders, within and in diaspora to realize this lofty idea geared towards strengthening the health sector.
While making a huge donation in support of the free medical outreach, the Council Chairman urged residents of Afikpo to take advantage of the rare opportunity to receive quality medicare pro bono, assuring that his administration will continue to partner with the Conference of Medical and Dental Doctors, CAMD to achieve a transformed health sector in Afikpo LGA.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Conference of Afikpo Medical and Dental Doctors, CAMD, Dr Uduma Victor Uduma disclosed that the initiative was borne out of the desire of Afikpo Medical and Dental Doctors to give back to their community by addressing the health needs of their people and thanked the Council Chairman and other leaders for making out time to attend the opening ceremony.
In their addresses, the Member representing Afikpo East State Constituency, Hon Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali, HRH Ezeogo-Elect Patrick Oko Agha, Chief Ogbonnia Okogwu, Dr Mark Abani, Chief Dr Ifeanyichukwu Madukibe Ewa, and the Administrator of Mater Misericordia Hospital, Afikpo, Rev. Fr. Simon Eseni registered their immense appreciation to Afikpo Doctors for embarking on the rescue mission and implored the people of the area to avail themselves of this opportunity to tackle their health challenges.
