Nasarawa: NILOWV visits INEC REC

The League of Women Voters of Nigeria, NILOWV, Nasarawa State Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Resident Electoral Commissioner, Nasarawa, Mr Shehu Wahab, on 10th September, 2024.

State Chairperson of NILOWV, Mrs Veronica Ogbole told the REC INEC, Shehu L Wahab they were in the Commission’s State Office as part the organization’s advocacy campaign at ensuring that Women are carried along in the Electoral Process.

Mrs Ogbole stated that NILOWV wants “INEC to help in the education of women, and in the campaign against violence as this discourages women from participating in politics.

Responding, the REC Shehu L Wahab, assured the Chairperson that INEC is committed to the ideals of their NILOWV. The REC pointed out that INEC runs Gender and INCLUSIVITY Department to give prominence to endangered segment of the society, assuring them of the Commission’s readiness to work with them to enable them achieve their objectives.

The INEC had in attendance the Hon REC, Management team, while Mrs Veronica Ogbole led her executives and members to the Courtesy visit.
