The Head of Mission, International Peace Commission (IPC-Nigeria) Amb Hussaini Haruna Coomassie has called on the newly sworn-in President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that he sustains and improve upon the peaceful co-existence amongst Nigerians.

This was made known in a statement issued in Abuja by his media adviser after the handing over ceremony at the Eagle Square in Abuja, early hours of yesterday.
According to the statement, Coomassie promised to work with the new president to ensure that his organisation’s goal to propagate peace and it components across the federation would be sustained.
He also added that the International Peace Commission IPC-Nigeria under his leadership will serve as an advisory to the president in the area of security and peace which are his major strong hold, there is no doubt this is the most trying time in our Nation’s history. And that it is time for everyone to join hands with Mr President to move the country forward. He reiterated that no success or progress can be achieved without peace.
“I’m so excited that President Tinubu has been sworn in as the sixth democratically elected President of Nigeria at last. In his inaugural speech, President Tinubu gave an overview of what Nigerians should expect from his administration in order to be able to achieve the renewed hope that has been promised to them.
“As an organisation, we are here to lend our support in the area of peace and security for Nigeria. We’ll partner with various government agencies to enlighten them on the importance of living peacefully by pinpointing areas where their attentions are necessarily required.
“I would like to also thank President Mohammadu Buhari for his efforts and contributions towards moving the country to greater heights, within his eight years as President. However, as we are all aware, Nigeria is a country that one Man can not do it alone, it takes cooperation and collaboration to achieve the desired goal. I pray that Nigeria will progress tremendously under President Tinubu to such a higher degree that will put to shame her critics and we at the Peace Commission will give all the necessary support, insha ALLAH,’ Amb Hussaini Coomassie added.
