The Senator representing Cross River North, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has boosted electricity supply in the district with the installation of six 500KVA transformers across rural communities.
The distribution exercise was flagged off on Thursday, September 5, 2025, at Ikaptang community in Ogoja Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, the Senator’s Constituency Officer, Egar Mgbantul, described the project as a major step in fulfilling Jarigbe’s campaign promises, particularly to communities that have suffered prolonged power shortages.
Mgbantul noted that access to reliable electricity is crucial for economic growth, industrial development, quality healthcare, better education, and overall social well-being. He assured that the intervention was only the beginning of broader efforts to address power challenges across the district.

“This journey to restore power supply has just begun. We will not stop until the needs of all communities are met,” he said.
Benefiting communities include Ikaptang (Urban 1, Ogoja LGA), Adigbo-Mfom Ekajuk 1 (Ogoja LGA), Abouchiche Junction (Bekwarra LGA), Ijama/Idiku (Okpoma Ward, Yala LGA), Ekprinyi (Utukwang Central, Obudu LGA), and Ketting (Bendi 1, Obanliku LGA).
Residents of Ikaptang, who have lived without electricity for more than 13 years, expressed gratitude to Senator Jarigbe and prayed for God’s blessings on him while urging him to continue his efforts in improving lives across the district.
