Kano : FIC Kano Holds One – Day Sensitisation Programme

Federal Information Centre, Kano is A Key Player in the Renewed Hope Agenda

The Federal Information Centre (FIC) in Kano organised a One-day program aimed at sensitizing the good people of Kano State on the eleven FG’s initiatives. It is part of the Federal Government’s broader intervention under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at promoting public enlightenment and awareness across Nigeria.

The FICs, previously known as Federal Public Enlightenment Centres, have undergone a transformation under the leadership of the Honourable Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi.

The Renewed Hope Agenda encompasses critical government initiatives designed to revitalize sectors such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), agriculture, and infrastructure development. This agenda highlights the government’s commitment to empowering its citizens, particularly through the ICT sector, support for women farmers, and upgrades in national infrastructure.

At the event held in Kano, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Kabiru Isa Ɗandago, emphasized the importance of these federal initiatives. His opening remarks touched upon the 11 core interventions being implemented by the Federal Government.

The Head of Centre, Alhaji Muhammad Isma’il Ishaq, delivered a welcoming address, highlighting the vital role FIC Kano plays in disseminating accurate information and raising public awareness. He urge the Kano people to make the best use of these opportunities.

Additionally, the District Head of Dala, Turakin Kano Alhaji Abdullahi Lamido Sanusi, urged the effective use of traditional institutions as a medium for spreading information to the grassroots level.

The event also featured presentations by resource persons Abubakar Haruna and Abdulbaƙi Buhari Makama from Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, who spoke on the initiatives explaining the eligibility criteria and the steps to apply or register for each intervention. The title of their paper is ‘Empowering Nigerian Youth and Entrepreneurs through Federal Government Initiatives :A Pathway to Cushion Price Hike’

During the question and answer session, Professor Kabiru Isa Ɗandago addressed concerns, offering clarity on the various aspects of the Renewed Hope Agenda and its implementation. The event underscored the government’s drive to revitalize public engagement and promote nationwide development through the Federal Information Centres.
