The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Chairman of AMAC Press Corps, Comrade Wisdom Acka, on his induction into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Acka was officially inducted into the prestigious professional body last Friday, March 28, at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Kingsley Madaki, Maikalangu described the recognition as a testament to Acka’s dedication to journalism and his contributions to the media profession within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He lauded Acka’s unwavering commitment to upholding ethical journalism and his role in ensuring accurate and responsible reporting.
The AMAC Chairman also acknowledged Acka’s steadfast support for his administration and assured continued collaboration with the Press Corps.
Maikalangu further praised Acka for ensuring that his administration receives robust and effective media coverage, and urged Press Corps members to hold his administration accountable.
He wished Acka continued success in his career and encouraged him to prioritize professionalism, training, and mentorship to build a lasting legacy in the media industry.
The statement reads in part: “I am always happy to hear about the accomplishments of people in my administration, especially members of the press corps. I have known Comrade Wisdom Acka for many years now and always proud of his achievements. As the Chairman of the press corps covering my administration, I have enjoyed a very good relationship with members of the press corps.
“It’s no mean feat to be inducted into NIPR. You must be a media practitioner worth his onion. Therefore, I am happy to celebrate with this professional who has ensured my administration gets the best publicity any administration can ever wish for. The induction of Comrade Wisdom Acka is the first of many to come and I hold him in the highest esteem.
“My assurance is that I’ll continue showing gratitude to the press corps for being partners in progress. Wherever I am going wrong, the press corps should not hesitate to draw my attention. Together, we will take AMAC to enviable heights. Once again, congratulations to Comrade Wisdom Acka even as I wish him the very best in the media profession.”
