The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has sought a strategic partnership with NTA Channel 5 Abuja to amplify women’s voices and promote grassroots representation in media narratives.
The partnership, which comes ahead of International Women’s Day, aims to address pressing issues affecting women and foster unity within the media landscape.

According to NAWOJ FCT Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, the association is committed to advocating for women’s rights and ensuring critical issues affecting women remain at the forefront of public discourse.
“NTA has been a strong pillar in promoting credible journalism, and as women journalists, we recognize the power of collaboration in amplifying our voices, especially for those at the grassroots,” Ikpang stated.
Mr. Paul Atte, General Manager of NTA Channel 5 Abuja, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to supporting NAWOJ’s mission, emphasizing the invaluable role women play in shaping homes, societies, and the nation.
“This collaboration is not just timely; it is essential. Women are the backbone of society, and giving them a stronger platform aligns with our vision of balanced and inclusive media representation,” Atte remarked.
The partnership paves the way for future engagements and signals a new era of impactful storytelling and media advocacy.
