The National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Hajia Aishatu Ibrahim, has officially inaugurated the newly elected executive members of the association in Niger State, charging them to uphold professionalism, unity, and the core values of journalism.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Hajia Ibrahim congratulated the new executives on their emergence and described their election as a call to greater service, dedication, and responsibility. She urged them to work collectively to strengthen the association, promote ethical journalism, and advocate for the welfare and development of women journalists across the state.

The newly inaugurated executives of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Niger State chapter include:
Dr. Asabe Garba — Chairperson
Ruth Gana — Vice Chairperson
Hauwa Inuwa — Secretary
Aishatu Aliyu Babadoko — Assistant Secretary
Safiya Yaman — Financial Secretary
Fatima Kaka Mohammed — Treasurer
Hussaina Musa — Auditor

In her acceptance speech, the Chairperson, Dr. Asabe Garba, expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in her and her team. She pledged to run an inclusive administration that will prioritize capacity building, professional excellence, and the protection of members’ rights.
Dr. Garba further emphasized the need for unity among members, noting that the success of the new executive would depend largely on teamwork and cooperation. She also assured that her leadership would focus on mentoring younger journalists and creating opportunities for women to thrive in the media industry.
The event was attended by members of the association, media stakeholders, and well-wishers, who expressed optimism that the new leadership would take the Niger State chapter of NAWOJ to greater heights.
