NAWOJ FCT Hails New DG/CEO and .. Governing Council Members of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, heartily congratulates Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi on her well deserved appointment as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the by President .

NAWOJ FCT also warmly congratulates the newly constituted Governing Council led by Princess Joan Jummai Idonije as Chairman, alongside other distinguished members Ms. Lois Auta, Hon. Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiyee, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, and Hon. Princess Anne Agom-Eze.

These appointments are not only timely but deeply inspiring for women and girls in the FCT .

They reflect a renewed commitment towards inclusive leadership, women empowerment, gender advancement, and the strengthening of institutions dedicated to the development and protection of women’s rights and opportunities.

NAWOJ FCT believes that Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi brings with her remarkable experience, visionary leadership, passion, and dedication that will reposition the Centre for greater impact in the lives of Nigerian women, especially at the grassroots.

As women journalists and advocates, we are particularly excited about the possibilities these appointments hold in amplifying the voices of women and girls, promoting gender-sensitive policies, and advancing programmes that will enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of women nationwide.

NAWOJ FCT expresses its readiness and willingness to collaborate closely with the new leadership of the Centre in promoting advocacy, awareness creation, capacity building, and media visibility for issues affecting women and children in the FCT.

We are confident that under this new leadership, the Centre will continue to serve as a beacon of hope, empowerment, innovation, and transformation for Nigerian women.
