The National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Nigeria, Princess Edna D.D. Azura, has described the national female football team, the Super Falcons, as not only elegant but also as warriors ready to conquer every opposition.

Princess Edna D.D. Azura, celebrating the Super Falcons’ victory over Morroco in the final of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco from Abuja, hailed the win as a reflection of the resilient spirit of Nigerian women.
The Super Falcons secured their place in the tournament’s final after defeating the defending champions, the Bayana Bayana of South Africa, by two goals to one.

Princess Edna D.D. Azura, who had earlier expressed her excitement following the Super Falcons’ dominant 3-2 victory over Morroco watched the final clash on television alongside a large group of women, filled with excitement and prayers.
She emphasised that the Super Falcons must recognise they are not alone in their mission, as millions of Nigerians are excite for their success.
Princess Edna D.D. Azura congratulated the team for defeating the host country, Morocco, in the final on Saturday and lifting the trophy for the 10th time—a victory that brought joy to millions of Nigerians, particularly our nation’s First Lady, our dear mother, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, who remains steadfast in her commitment to advancing the interests of Nigerian women and children.
Speaking after the team’s ultimate victory, Princess Azura said:
“You are not just footballers; you are ambassadors of hope, courage, and determination. You have shown the world the strength of the Nigerian woman. Nigerian women are proud of you, and we celebrate you as champions who have made history.”
She reaffirmed that Nigerian women are solidly behind the Super Falcons and will continue to support them as they inspire young girls across the country to dream big and aim high.
