The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), in partnership with the MTN Foundation on Saturday, staged a Walk Against Substance Abuse at the African University of Science and Technology, Galadimawa, Abuja.
The walk was organised to commemorate the 2026 International Day Against Substance Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

Chairman/CEO of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.) CON, OFR, was represented by the Agency Secretary, Mr. Shadrach Haruna who was accompanied by top officials of the agency and other stakeholders for the awareness walk.
Speaking at the event, the NDLEA boss reiterated the agency’s commitment to reducing drug demand and supply through public education, community engagement, and stronger partnerships.

He called on Nigerians, especially youths and students, to reject drug abuse and embrace healthy lifestyles.
MTN Foundation, through its Anti-Substance Abuse Programme, reaffirmed its support for national efforts to curb drug abuse and protect young people from the dangers of illicit substances.
The walk brought together NDLEA officers, university students, civil society groups, and community leaders in a show of collective resolve against substance abuse.
