Niger Assembly Calls on AEDC to protect its Equipment Against Vandals

Niger State House of Assembly has mandated Abuja Electricity Distribution Company to protect it’s equipment against vandals in the state.

This was sequel to a motion raised by member representing Kontagora one constituency Sani Umar during the plenary on Tuesday.

The legistlator who expressed dissatisfaction on the way the distribution company has subjected the citizens of the state to total hardship, blamed most of the vandalisation of electricity distribution transformer on the negligence by AEDC.

He expressed dismay over the way AEDC has made it composory and ensure that community members contribute money to buy, repair or replaced damage or stolen electricity transformer component.

Sani Umar lament that the socio economic realities of feeding, transportation, health among others for an average related family is enough to contend with.

He said the negligence by AEDC make life more difficult for law abiding citizens of the state, urging the company to wake up to it’s responsibilities and safeguard it’s equipment

The house in it’s resolution summons the regional manager of AEDC to answer questions in that regard.
