Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon Muazu Hamidu Jantabo says the ministry is working tirelessly with the state Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to generate more revenue to the state.

The Commissioner in an interview with Weekenders magazine’s Correspondent in the state said this administration is leaving no stone unturned, he explained that the last government signed into law the state Harmonize revenue.
According to him, the initiative was to collect revenue from all the local government, meanwhile later faced some challenges due to lack of proper understanding the terms of operation.
He appreciated Governor Umaru Muhammed Bago administration by collaborating with IRS to ensure all the maximum benefits which enables more revenue for Nigerlites.
The Commissioner also stated that all political appointees are tasked by the Governor to go back to their various communities by assessing all their needs and aspirations for a better Niger, adding that the ministry has a mandate to ensure it works as expected.
Moreso, the ministry is working with MDA’s charged by law to carry out oversight functions to all local governments.
Meanwhile, we employ all the 25 local government to make empowerment budgetary provision that would be beneficial to the women and youth in their respective local government.
