Niger State House of Assembly has impress on the state government to assist the Victims of flood in Edati Local Government Area of the state whose houses and farmland were submerged.
This was sequel to matter of urgent public importance raised by member representing Edati Constituency Ahmed Muhammed calling on the state government to Address the perennial flooding in the local government area
Presenting his report during the plenary the lawmaker who expressed sadness over the situation noted that ten wards have been affected by the incidence while property worth millions of naira have been lost.
He said the affected communities, situated in the lower land have been cut off by the flood which is as a result of the continuous inflow from river kaduna and Niger.
The house in it’s resolution urged the state government to intervene through the state ministry of humanitarian affairs and disaster management and assist the Victims to enable them re- establish themselve.
