The affiliation of FUW with COASTE Provides Opportunity for Nigerian Youths to Expand their Horizons – VC

Affiliation of institutions have been describe as a avenue for Youths to expand their horizons and to develop partnerships with those in other parts of the country and the world.

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Wukari, Professor Jude Rabo, disclose this during the matriculation ceremony of the Postgraduate program of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Jalingo.

“I therefore encourage the students and the program leaders to ensure that they integrate such proceses that will enable the students to excel through collaboration with others.

According to him, the affiliated programs would also be an opportunity to develop further partnerships between the University and good people of Taraba State.

“We shall encourage our students both in Wukari and Jalingo to extensively look at opportunities that exist so that they can explore themselves and the society at large.

“The matriculating students must therefore ensure that you make the best of the opportunities that have been offered to you to excel.

The Vice Chancellor urge them to at all times, look critically at their environment and make it better through progressively emphasizing those things that will support the growth of the institution and wider society.

“When the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo, initially sought affiliation with the Federal University Wukari in 2022, the University sent a team of experts in relevant fields to inspect the institution’s facilities and relevant sources. It was based on the report that the affiliation was granted.

“The program at this affiliate institution is a replica of the program at the main campus in Wukari.

The Vice Chancellor pointed out that the University will ensure that the quality of delivery matches or even exceed expectations.

“In line with the regulatry requirements the School of Post graduate studies will comprehensively work together with you to ensure quality of the program.

Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Professor Nicholas Namessan represented by the Director, Veterinary Services Shehu Abdullahi congratulated the students and commended the efforts of the Federal University Wukari for Collaborating with the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo.

In his remarks, the Rector of College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dr. Yakubu Garjila assured the participants and the students of the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo of its readiness to provide quality education and collaborate more with Federal University Wukari to kick start Degree program as well.

Also speaking, the Dean, School of Post graduate studies, Dr. Gaius Taphee Barnabas, listed the six Post graduate programs carried out by the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo include, Agriculture Economics, Agriculture Extension and Rural Development, Crop production, Crop protection, Forest and Wildlife management and Animal production and Health.

A total of 29 students matriculated.
