Niger : NIPR calls on State Govt to invest more on State Owned Media

Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called on the state government to invest more on its state own media.

Fellow and former National Vice President of the Institute who is also the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Alh. Mohammed Dattijo Usman, on behalf of the Institute, stated this during the presentation of award to the Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council chamber of Government House, Minna.

He explained that the award was in recognition of the ability of the Governor to connect with the populace of Niger State.

Alh. Dattijo Usman appreciated the Governor for all the support the NIPR has enjoyed from his administration.

He suggested ways the Institute can partner with the State government, especially in the Communication Strategy, while appealing for more investment in all the State-owned Media organisations for effective service delivery.

Responding, the Governor appreciated the NIPR for the honour and for recognising the effort of his administration.

He said the recognition is a push to do more for humanity.

The Governor assured that his administration would collaborate with the Institute in revamping the State-owned Media organisations to compete favourably with their counterparts in the Private sector.

Similarly, the Nigeria Society for Environment (NSE), presented an Honour award for being the first to engineer the Green Economy Summit.

He was also admitted as a Fellow of the Society and entitled to all the privileges there in.

In another development, the Governor received an award of appreciation from the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), in recognition of his strides, especially in Agriculture.
