Fellow Nigerians, As we approach the 66th anniversary of our nation’s independence, I am honoured to celebrate with you as Chairman of the Board of NNPC Limited, Nigeria’s flagship energy company and the pride of our national economy.

A Year of Unprecedented Performance
The 2025 financial year marked a turning point in the history of our company.
Under the astute leadership of Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari, other Executives and the Board, NNPC Limited recorded a Profit After Tax of N7.2 trillion, representing a N1.8 trillion increase from N5.4 trillion in the preceding year.
Our revenue reached N34.5 trillion, demonstrating the resilience of our operations and the effectiveness of our strategic direction.
More significantly, our remittances to the Federal Government reached N22.3 trillion, a N6.3 trillion increase over the previous year – N16.0 trillion.
This includes taxes, royalties, and other statutory payments that fund critical national infrastructure and social programmes.
The Board overseeing our Upstream, Downstream, and Gas, Power and New Energy portfolios have contributed to this record performance. NNPC Limited is not merely a commercial entity; it is a pillar of Nigeria’s fiscal stability.
Operational Excellence
Our operational metrics reflect a company firing on all cylinders. Crude oil production peaked at 1.77 million barrels per day, a five-year high that underscores the success of our production optimisation efforts.
Natural gas supply reached 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day, a three-year high that positions Nigeria to meet its domestic gas obligations and fulfil its potential as a global gas supplier.
Pipeline availability on major export routes has improved substantially. Where some facilities previously operated at less than 10% of producer output, we now record reconciliation factors of approximately 90% between crude produced and volumes delivered at terminals.
This transformation was achieved through community-based surveillance, strategic interventions, and coordinated security operations.
Powering Nigeria’s Refining Future
NNPC Limited has sustained crude oil supply to the Local Refineries under an innovative dual-currency arrangement that balances national interest with commercial prudence.
This partnership is helping to stabilise Nigeria’s fuel supply and reduce our historical dependence on imported refined products. We are committed to ensuring that Nigerian crude serves Nigerian refineries, creating jobs and retaining value within our borders.
Independence Day Reflection
Tomorrow, as the green-white-green flies across our nation, let us reflect on how far we have come and how much further we can go. Nigeria’s independence was a promise: a promise of self-determination, of national prosperity, of a future built by Nigerian hands for Nigerian benefit.
At NNPC Limited, we are working daily to fulfil that promise. Every barrel of crude produced, every cubic foot of gas supplied, every naira remitted to government coffers, and every Nigerian employed in our operations represents a step towards the energy-secure, prosperous nation our founding fathers envisioned. I congratulate all Nigerians, at home and in the diaspora, on this Independence Day.
I commend the management and staff of NNPC Limited for their dedication and excellence. And I reaffirm the Board’s commitment to steering this company towards even greater heights in service of our beloved nation.
Happy Independence Day. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Engineer Ahmadu Musa Kida Chairman, Board of Directors NNPC Limited
