Nigeria @ 66 : Osinbajo Assures Prophecies of Nigeria’s Greatness Will Surely Manifest

By Remi Johnson

Professor Yemi Osinbajo has declared that the divine vision and long-standing prophecies concerning the nation’s emergence as a great global force will not be cut short.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this in Lagos while leading millions to thank God for Nigeria’s 66th anniversary and His constant intervention at the Redemption Camp during the live broadcast of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) October Holy Ghost Service.

The former Vice President, who reassured citizens that God’s plans for Nigeria’s peace and prosperity remain intact, affirmed that Nigeria is divinely positioned to trigger the end-time spread of the Gospel across the globe.

Reiterating the foundation of his faith in the nation’s future, Professor Osinbajo cited Jeremiah 29:11, reminding the audience that God’s thoughts toward Nigeria are for peace and a hopeful future rather than evil.

He noted that this divine assurance is supported by numerous prophetic declarations given over the decades through esteemed spiritual leaders, including pioneer Pentecostal figure Pa Sydney Elton and RCCG General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, which all agree on the eventual greatness of the nation.

“How do I know that God truly has this vision for Nigeria?” Osinbajo asked the congregation. “The first is that He has promised. The second reason is because of the many prophecies that God has given His children, His prophets. Our father in the Lord has given us several prophecies of this same vision of God, that this nation will be great.”

Beyond spiritual promises, Osinbajo highlighted tangible physical evidence of God’s blueprint for the country.

He pointed to Nigeria’s immense natural wealth, ranging from oil, gas, gold, and copper to key technology, critical minerals, alongside vast arable land, abundant renewable energy sources, and exceptional human capital.

However, Osinbajo stressed that divine promises require human effort and cooperation to come to fruition.

He led the congregation in intense intercessory prayers focused on three key areas needed to fulfill the nation’s destiny.
Citing Matthew 5:13–14 and 2 Chronicles 7:14, he charged believers to act as the “salt” and “light” of Nigeria, turning away from wrongdoing to lead moral and structural rebirth.

Drawing from Proverbs 21:1, he prayed for God to awaken the conscience and will of leaders across the political, judicial, legislative, and business sectors, granting them wisdom and the fear of God to bring security, jobs, and abundance.

Prof. Osinbajo, while praying for the youth and divine intervention, drew from Psalm 127:1 and emphasized that human efforts alone are inadequate without God building the nation.

Prof. Osinbajo specifically prayed for young people to thrive, prosper, and fulfill their role in making the country great.

While encouraging citizens to hold fast to the divine mandate over Nigeria, Prof. Osinbajo declared that Nigerians will eat the good of the land according to God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11.

The theme of the 2026 RCCG October Holy Ghost Service is “HEAVEN”
