Nigerians in the Diaspora Show Unity : Endorse Seyi Tinubu for Governor Lagos State

In a strong show of solidarity and support, Nigerians living abroad have officially endorsed Seyi Tinubu’s candidacy for the governorship of Lagos State in the 2027 elections.

The endorsement was made during an event held on Saturday, April 13, 2025.

This declaration follows a similar show of support from the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, who cited Seyi Tinubu’s leadership qualities, relevant experience, and strong qualifications as key reasons for their backing.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Austin Dafe, President of The Future Platform, highlighted the urgent need for youth leadership to confront Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

He described Seyi Tinubu as the next governor of Lagos State and someone capable of bringing young people closer to the heart of governance. Mr. Dafe emphasized that The Future Platform is an independent, nonpartisan organization committed to empowering the next generation of African leaders.

The platform focuses on promoting sustainable development goals and creating wealth-building opportunities for youth, with the vision of shaping a prosperous future for the continent.

Mr. Fredinard Whyte, who was also in attendance, stated that as the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Seyi is well-positioned to build upon his father’s legacy and lead Lagos State toward greater progress.

Also present was Ms. Christine Bell, a dual citizen, who expressed her strong support for Seyi Tinubu. She noted that it is time for Nigerian youth to take the lead, as they possess the passion and drive for positive change. “The youth put Nigeria first,” she said, “and they are ready to bring about real transformation.”

Another participant, Mrs. Victoria Jahoo—a U.S.-based mother and philanthropist—shared her joy in seeing young Nigerians come together in unity for a common cause.

She urged the people of Lagos State to support Seyi Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections, emphasizing the importance of guidance and mentorship from the older generation as the youth take the lead.

The endorsement was officially celebrated at the ‘All-White Endorsement Event’ organized by The Future Platform-USA, a non-governmental organization of Nigerian descent based in Atlanta, Georgia. The event aimed to galvanize global support for Seyi Tinubu’s gubernatorial ambitions.
