The Ambassador of Nigeria to Spain, His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, on Tuesday, participated in the opening ceremony of CONXEMAR 2026 at the IFEVI Exhibition Centre in Vigo, Galicia, Spain.

CONXEMAR 2026, the 27th International Frozen Seafood Exhibition, is one of the world’s most important trade fairs dedicated entirely to the frozen seafood sector.

The high-profile ceremony attracted several prominent dignitaries, including the President of the Xunta de Galicia, senior representatives of the Spanish Government, the President of CONXEMAR, the Mayor of Vigo, members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, business leaders, and key stakeholders in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Ikpeazu held strategic interactions with CONXEMAR officials and representatives of various companies in the packaging, marine, and fisheries-related industries.

Sources at the Embassy said the engagements form part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Mission to promote Nigeria’s blue economy potential and attract Spanish investment into the country.

The Ambassador was said to have used the opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s vast opportunities in the fisheries and aquaculture value chain, while exploring areas of collaboration with Spanish firms.

CONXEMAR brings together major global players in the frozen seafood industry annually, providing a platform for trade, investment and networking.
