Nkaliki Hatchery Resumes Poultry Production

The Nkaliki Hatchery in Ebonyi State has resumed poultry production, with layers and broilers currently being raised at the facility.

The revival has seen the layers begin producing eggs, with members of the public, businesses and private buyers already purchasing eggs directly from the farm.

The development marks a return to commercial agricultural activity at the facility, which was previously a major source of food, employment and economic activity in the state.

The state government said the revival is part of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s agricultural agenda under the People’s Charter of Needs, aimed at increasing food production, creating jobs and strengthening livelihoods.

A feed mill is also under construction at the facility to support poultry and livestock production and eventually provide feeds to farmers within and outside Ebonyi State.

The government said while the revival is still ongoing, production has returned to Nkaliki, with more developments expected at the facility.
