No fewer than 200 staff of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) on Tuesday benefitted from the free medical outreach organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCDA Chapel as part of the programmes marking their 2025 Press Week.

The outreach which was organised in collaboration with Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, saw the beneficiaries offered services in Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Pharmacy and Vitals free of charge.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Felicia Anthony-Okoro said the outreach was meant to bring healthcare services to the staff of the FCDA right in their workplace, who, for one reason or the other, may not have gone for such checks on their own.

Comrade Felicia admonished the staff and other Nigerians to prioritize their health by going for regular medical check up to enable them stay healthy and strong for their families, saying, “Health is wealth. You must be alive to work, you must be alive to be able to take care of you family.
If anyone says medical check ups are costly, are you then going to wait till you have broken down before you begin to run up and down? Please, let us take our health serious, let us take advantage of this free services being offered by Nizamiye hospital to know our health status “.
She expressed gratitude to the management of the hospital for their magnanimity in offering those services free of charge, while calling on wealthy Nigerians and corporate bodies to assist the less- privileged in the society by partnering with willing hospitals to make healthcare accessible and affordable to them.
Former Chairperson NAWOJ FCT, Princess Joy Omagha Idam, who hailed the event, noted that this health intervention is timely as health is wealth. She congratulated the the Chairman Comrade Felicia Okoro and her Executives and praised Nizamiya Hospital, for standing out in Corporate Social Responsibility amongst hospitals in the FCT.
Other activities lined up for the Chapel’s 2025 Press Week include School Intervention (Corporate Social Responsibility), Public Lecture and a Fitness Walk which will hold on the 6th, 7th and 8th of November, respectively.
