The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Mr. Kingsley Rufus Madaki on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, the Council described the appointment as a fitting recognition of Madaki’s professional competence, dedication, and contributions to journalism and public communication.
Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, said the appointment is a source of pride to the journalism profession and the media community in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to her, the development underscores the growing confidence in media professionals as strategic partners in governance, public engagement, and development communication.
“We are delighted to celebrate one of our own on this remarkable achievement. His appointment reflects years of hard work, professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence, values that the NUJ continues to promote among its members,” she stated.
The Council expressed confidence in Madaki’s ability to bring his vast experience and expertise to bear in his new role, while urging him to remain committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and effective communication in the discharge of his duties.
The NUJ FCT Council further wished him a successful and impactful tenure and assured him of the Union’s support and cooperation as he assumes his new responsibilities in service to the AMAC administration and residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
