NUJ FCT Council Hails Ikharo Attah’s Appointment as Media Aide to Education Minister

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Ikharo Attah on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister of Education, Morufu Olatunji Alausa

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Council described the appointment as well-deserved, citing Attah’s track record of professionalism and excellence in journalism.


Before his new role, Attah served as Head of News at Independent Television, where he was noted for strong leadership, editorial discipline, and commitment to ethical reporting.

His experience in newsroom management and public communication, the Council said, positions him to effectively strengthen the Ministry’s media engagement and policy communication.


The NUJ FCT Council further described the appointment as recognition of Attah’s contributions to the media industry, expressing confidence in his ability to promote transparency, support education sector reforms, and enhance public understanding of government policies.


While urging him to uphold the highest standards of journalism, the Council also encouraged Attah to leverage his new position to reinforce the role of the media in national development.
The statement, signed by Grace Ike, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, wished him success in his new assignment.
