The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has presented the “Employee’s Advocate Award of the Year” to Chief Felix Amaechi Obuah, Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC). This prestigious award recognizes Chief Obuah’s outstanding contributions to staff welfare and his dedication to ensuring the well-being of his employees and workers generally.
The ceremony was held at the AMMC Corporate Headquarters in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja. The event was graced by the NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, who praised Chief Obuah’s proactive leadership style and commitment to staff welfare. Comrade Ike described Chief Obuah as a leader who shows empathy to staff and the community, highlighting his prompt response to mails as a notable trait.
Comrade Ike noted that Chief Obuah’s dedication and service to humanity earned him this award. His commitment to staff welfare and well-being has been exemplary, especially to workers. The NUJ FCT Council recognized Chief Obuah’s efforts in creating a positive work environment and his dedication to ensuring the welfare of his employees.

In his response, delivered by his representative, Mr. Bello Zakari, Assistant Director, General Services, in the Council, Chief Obuah expressed gratitude for the award and pledged to continue his efforts in ensuring order within the FCT. He appreciated the NUJ FCT Council for the recognition and promised to stay focused. Chief Obuah stressed that of all the awards received, this one from the NUJ FCT Council stands out and will remain a constant reminder that the torchlight of journalists is upon him.
Chief Obuah pledged to do more in his role as Coordinator of the AMMC, working tirelessly to ensure that all is in order within the FCT. He expressed his gratitude to the NUJ FCT Council for the award and promised to continue his good work.
