False reports about the Death OF Hon. Chief Shimite Bello Love(nee Nwakolo)

The attention of the League of Women Voters, Nigeria'(NILOWV) has been drawn to the several distressing and false reports stating and insinuating that investigations have been concluded in the reported murder of Hon Shimite Bello love, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export who until her death was a member of our Asaba branch.

It has become necessary to inform the general public that the Nigerian Police have not issued any report or statement on the cause of death of our member, Mrs Love. The Police have informed us that investigations are still ongoing and upon conclusion all stakeholders shall be informed of their findings.

Therefore it is quite unsympathetic, unfeeling and unlawful for any person to claim that he or she has been vindicated in the ongoing case of the investigation of the reported Murder of our Sisiter Shimite Bello Love.

We enjoin all suspects , their friends and families to desist from making statements that might negatively impact the investigation of the case. We shall ensure the full ambit of the law is brought against such false reporters and rumour mongers in the event that they do not cease or desist from peddlers such false stories.

We use this medium to also ask that members of the public continue to pray for Mrs Shimite Love’s family as this is indeed a trying time for the family.
The League of Women voters, Nigeria is committed to the protection, emancipation and preservation of Women’s rights and abhors any untoward conduct or action towards any woman anywhere in Nigeria. We shall leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of any such report of abuse.
We call on the Nigerian government, particularly the Nigerian Police ,Non Governmental Organizations operating within Nigeria and members of the general public to join forces with us at the League to ensure that there is clear justice in unraveling the circumstances that led to the death of Shimite Love.
We call on Gender based civil society organizations to add their voices to a call for thorough and unbiase
