The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has honoured the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, in recognition of his exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to public safety, and cordial relationship with the media.
The honour, conferred during a colourful ceremony attended by journalists, senior police officers, government officials and other distinguished guests, underscores the growing appreciation of the AIG’s efforts in promoting professionalism in policing, strengthening security, and fostering a productive partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the media.
AIG Moshood has earned widespread respect within law enforcement circles for his strategic approach to crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and his dedication to maintaining peace and order across the Zone 2 Police Command, which covers Lagos and Ogun States. Since assuming office, he has championed proactive policing, enhanced collaboration with stakeholders, and intensified efforts against criminal activities.
The NUJ noted that beyond his operational achievements, AIG Moshood has consistently demonstrated openness, accessibility and respect for the constitutional role of the media in promoting transparency, accountability and democratic governance. Speaking after receiving the honour, AIG Moshood dedicated the recognition to the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force whose commitment and sacrifices have contributed immensely to the successes recorded by the command. He reaffirmed his resolve to continue providing purposeful leadership and deepening collaboration with journalists and other critical stakeholders in the interest of national security.
