Ogedegbe Receives Executives of Positive Impact for Women and Youth Development Initiative in His Office.

The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. (Chief) Augustine Ogedegbe @⁨Unknown user⁩ (JP), today received the Executives of the Positive Impact for Women and Youth Development Initiative (PIWYODI) in his office at Isiokolo.

The team led by Hon. Mary Samuel, explained that the purpose of their visit was to seek collaboration with the council on a proposed rice farming empowerment program aimed at engaging women and youths in agriculture.

According to Hon. Samuel, the initiative is designed to harness the vast and fertile lands of Ethiope East for rice cultivation. We are here to collaborate with the Council to involve our people in rice farming. Ethiope East has extensive arable land and fertile soil suitable for rice production. We seek the Council’s support in providing human resources, seedlings, and land space, while our NGO will handle the training and technical aspects of the program, she stated.

In his response, Hon. Ogedegbe warmly welcomed the delegation and commended their foresight and commitment to agricultural sector.
He described the initiative as a laudable step in line with the Zero Hunger Drive and the Council’s broader vision of promoting food security, youth empowerment, and rural development.

“Yes the Council is always open to partner with credible organizations and initiatives that will bring tangible benefits to our people.


We are ready to collaborate with your team to make this project a success for the good of Ethiope East..” Ogedegbe assured.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism about a fruitful collaboration that will enhance agricultural productivity, create jobs, and improve livelihoods within the Local Government Area.

Ethiope East Local Government Area boss is the third LGA, the NGO has visited. Ndowka East and Ughelli South Local Government Chairmen were earlier paid courtesy call and hopefully, the group intends to reach out to the remaining Delta State Local Council Chairmen.
