The family of Orchiviri Dr. James Akperan Orshi, the 3rd Tor Tiv, of Mbatiev, Mbapen, Tombu, Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, announces with deep sorrow, but with total submission to the will of Almighty God, the passing unto glory of their beloved son, husband, father, uncle and brother,
PASTOR PETER TYOAKAA ORSHI
The sad event occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2026, after a brief illness. He was 60 years old.
A statement issued by Barrister David Orshi said the deceased was a loving husband, father, uncle and a man who was greatly loved and cherished by his family, friends and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Nancy Nguveren Orshi, a Deputy Director with Radio Benue, six children and other relatives, in-laws and loved ones. She is also the Benue State Coordinator Positive Impact for Women and Youth Development Initiative PIWYODI.
The family invites relatives, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers to join them in mourning and celebrating the life of their departed patriarch, as follows:

The body departs Bishop Murray Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue State, at 1:00 p.m., en route to Tse-Kur Baka for another wake.
