The Taraba State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has elected Rev Dr Williams Awoshiri as its Chairman.
Rev Dr Williams Awoshiri was elected on Thursday the 22nd May 2025 during the delegate conference of the association which took place at the CAN Secretariat in Jalingo the state capital.

Other exco that emerged at the election include Rev Samuel Ibrahim Jatau as Vice Chairman, Rev Dr Nelson Duna as Secretary and Rev Samaila Sapta while Apostle Sunday Adetiba is the Treasurer.
The election was presided over by the Assistant General Secretary of CAN in Nigeria Rev Mrs Uzoaku Williams,
In his remarks the Former CAN Chairman of Taraba State Rev Dr Isaiah Jirapye Magaji, thanked the interim leadership of CAN in the state for successfully holding the election.
The outgone Acting Chairman of CAN Rev Moses Iron Aliyuda said henceforth CAN Taraba must follow it constitution in election of leaders.
The new Chairman Rev Dr Williams Awoshiri, pledge to move the association foreward and make a case for unity of purpose.
Seventy One deligates participated in the election which produce the result.
This has brought to an end the long leadership tussle and election postponements that engulf the association since last year.
