President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described Taraba State as an Agricultural powerhouse yet to be harnessed.
The President represented by his Vice, Kashim Shettima disclose this at the 2025 Taraba International Investment Summit (TARAVEST) in Jalingo.
He noted that the state is endowed with rich agricultural potentials needing investors to tap.

According to him, Agriculture in Taraba goes beyond traditional farming methods, emphasizing the need for modernization and investment.
He also highlighted the potential of the mining sector, stating that the wealth in Taraba is too significant to be reduced to mere statistics.
The President assured that the Federal Government is committed to supporting local investment for wealth generation.
“Indeed, Taraba is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s agricultural and industrial future, as its immense potential reflects the promise of our nation’s shared prosperity.
He stressed the importance of unity and collective efforts in translating Taraba’s abundant natural resources into wealth.
Vice President Kashim officially declared open the Taraba International Investment Summit 2025, reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to making Taraba a key investment hub.
Shettima said the summit reflects the administration’s inclusive approach to national development.
According to him, food security, along with regional economic inclusion as the primary currency of Nigeria’s path to long-term stability.
He disclosed plans by the present administration renewed hope to transform Taraba State into a vital centre for agricultural productivity, energy generation, and mineral resource development.

Speaking earlier, governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State welcomed participants to the summit, assuring investors of the safety and security of the state.
He invited investors to take advantage of Taraba’s investment opportunities, guaranteeing security and peace in the state.
Correspondent reports that the summit aims to showcase Taraba’s investment potential and attract investors to key sectors such as agriculture, energy, and mining.
Speaking, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, give his royal blessings.
“When Kefas called me sometimes in April, he said sir I’m inviting u to Taraba. I asked him for what. He said it for investments summits. I said I hardly go to summit. But we are proud of Kefas and grateful for his bringing us together to brainstorm. We believe in his capacity, youthfulness and foresight. We call him the chief whip of the Governors Forum because he’s a soldier among civilians.”
On his part, the Ooni of Ife, said,
“22 years ago I was here in Taraba to invest in sugar. I went to Gembu. Thank God Dangote is here. I was among his major suppliers. Today, I’m a monarch. I’ve always prayed for Taraba to showcase its potentials. The best #Blue_Sapphire in the world is in Taraba state. When you take Blue_Sapphire to anyone in the world they ask you if it is from Taraba.”
