TETFund Entrepreneurship Training Ends at Ebonyi ICT University

ABAKALIKI – The three-day TETFund Training Programme on Teaching Entrepreneurship Using Effectuation has ended at Ebonyi State University of ICT, Science and Technology, Oferekpe, with participants pledging to apply the knowledge gained to enhance entrepreneurship education.

The training, held from July 27 to 29, 2026, brought together academic staff to strengthen their capacity in teaching entrepreneurship using the effectuation approach, which focuses on innovation, opportunity identification, resource utilization, and managing uncertainty.

The university commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its continued investment in staff development and higher education, describing the intervention as a significant contribution to improving the quality of entrepreneurship education in Nigerian universities.

It also appreciated the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its leadership in promoting entrepreneurship education and GETrust for partnering in the successful delivery of the programme.

Facilitators at the training equipped participants with practical knowledge on applying effectuation principles to help students identify business opportunities, maximize available resources, build strategic partnerships, and develop sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.

The university said the knowledge acquired would be integrated into teaching, research, mentorship, and community engagement to provide students with practical learning experiences and equip them with skills for innovation, problem-solving, and job creation.

It reaffirmed its commitment to building a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship capable of producing graduates who will contribute meaningfully to the economic development of Ebonyi State and Nigeria.

The institution thanked TETFund, the NUC, GETrust, the facilitators, and participating staff for contributing to the success of the training programme.
