Zeberced Partners NUJ : Holds Health Walk and Medical Checkup for Members

Health they say is wealth. In a bid to improve healthcare services in the FCT, Zeberced, Construction giants in collaboration with Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) , Thursday August 31st, 2023 held a fitness Walk as part of campaign to create awareness on the need for Nigerians to maintain good health and wellness.

Speaking before the kickoff of the walk at Berger Round About, Abuja to mark the three day medical outreach and Media Parley, Chairman of the NUJ, Abuja Council, Comrade Patrick Osadebamwen, stressed the need for every individual to maintain healthy status, stating that Journalists are too engrossed in their work that they forget to exercise their bodies.

In his Address the President of the NUJ, Dr Chris Isiguzo, while appreciating the leadership of ZEBERCED for the initiative, “maintained that health is wealth. It is always good to exercise it is good to do it everyday to avoid diseases”.

He assured the partners of cordial relationship if they always do the right thing, promising that journalists will be objective in reports about ZEBERCED, in order to promote their applaudable services in the FCT and beyond.

Dr Isiguzo assured Zeberced, that with this new partnership the Company will become a household name in Nigeria. As journalists would write about their good deeds.

In his brief remarks, Managing Director, of ZEBERDEC, Adil Curt said “As you can see, I am sweaty. Sometimes you have to engage in exercise to burn calories and keep fit” adding that the company will do its best “to add value” to Nigeria.

The Chairman FCT Sports Council, while declaring the Walk Open, Said with regular exercise people can overcome life threatening diseases. He urged the journalists to always make out time to exercise to stay healthy while performing their constitutional role.

Highlights of the event featured a Walk by over 230 journalists led by The NUJ President and MD Zeberced from Berger Junction to the Abuja Council, NUJ Secretariat, located on Ekukinam Street, Utali, after which free medical tests were conducted for the journalists by a team of Medical Workers, Courtesy ZEBERCED.

The tests carried out were those of Blood Sugar level, High Blood Pressure, HBP, as well as blood level test while journalists also received medical advice based on the various results from the test.
