The Taraba State Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has again pleaded with all aggrieved aspirants of the party to join hands and ensure victory for the party in 2023.
Bwacha, who made the appeal on Wednesday while inaugurating his campaign council in Jalingo, said both the incoming government at the state and federal level “have enough space for everyone.”
Noting that “a house divided against itself cannot stand,” he stressed the need for all the aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to sheath their swords and allow peace to reign.
Expressing a belief that APC in the state had the capacity to form the next government in Taraba at the next political dispensation, he urged the people to “avoid any form of disloyalty and selective politics by voting for all our candidates.”
He expressed sadness that “Taraba, once a vibrant and prosperous state, has now shamelessly degenerated to a pitiable level of desolation [and] deprivation.”
He urged: “We cannot build a state of fear, mutual suspicion and timidity, [we] must go beyond petty stereotypes and common differences to embrace each other for the common good.”
Bwacha, who was of the view that the “problems we face as a state are not insurmountable” said further: “We have decided to take on this challenge, [and] we shall succeed by the grace of God.”
According to him, people of the state have now embraced a new culture of subservience and a pretentious campaign of calumny against each other, based on tribalism, religious bigotry and regional blocks that was completely unacceptable and needed not be allowed to thrive in the new Taraba that the APC was about to build.
The APC governorship candidate also encouraged Tarabans to be aware of the grave situation facing people both as individuals and as a state, noted that Taraba State was stands precariously on the precipice of complete breakdown and needed APC to survive.
“Within the next two months, we are taking the message of establishing a new Taraba to every Local Government Area, every community and every household. As things stand today, Taraba is in a state of emergency. It desperately require all hands to be on deck to salvage it from falling off the cliff of annihilation.
“In the past few years, Tarabans have watched helplessly, the destruction of all the fabrics of governance, while driving a big knife into the heart of our unity and oneness as a people. Our people have now embraced a new culture of subservience and a pretentious campaign of calumny against each other, based on tribalism, religious bigotry and regional blocks. This is completely unacceptable and cannot be allowed to thrive in the new Taraba we are about to build.
“We should all be aware of the grave situation facing us both as individuals and as a state. Suffice it to say that Taraba State currently stands precariously on the precipice of complete breakdown.
“Taraba, once a vibrant and prosperous state, has now shamelessly degenerated to a pitiable level of desolation, deprivation and hopelessness. Apart from the scourge of poverty, hunger and disease, our people have lost their confidence or any hope of standing well on their feet. A weak and hopeless society cannot accomplish any goals for its people.
“I urged all of you to lend your full time, energy and treasure to this important assignment, so as to take your place in the history we are about to make and save the people and the state from the sorry condition.
“We cannot build a state based on fear, mutual suspicion and timidity. This is neither the intention nor the dream of our founding fathers. We must go beyond petty stereotypes and common differences to embrace each other for the common good.
“I want to assure you that the problems we face as a state are not unsurmountable Indeed, we have decided to take on this challenge and we shall succeed by the Grace of God. Vote APC all the way, vote from top to bottom,” Bwacha encouraged.
Earlier, Barr. Ibrahim El-Sudi, Taraba state APC chairman appealed with people of the state to consider the situation Taraba has found it self and vote strictly for APC in the 2023 election.
In his respond on behalf of the campaign council, chairman of the council, Uba Maigari thanked senator Bwacha and the state APC for finding him worthy to serve in the position.
He promised, the campaign council would deliver on the mandate of ensuring the APC win all the positions in the 2023 elections.
